Sergeant Stephen B. Yakots is a 15-year law enforcement professional with extensive experience in patrol, mental health, public order, research and development, strategic communications, use-of-force, incident management, training, and investigative roles and assignments. He currently works on special projects involving annual events, secondary employment contracts, noise and street closure permits, union relations, emergency management, modified duty supervision, as well as a Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program grant. He also recently served as a public information officer in the twenty-second largest media market. Outside of work, Sergeant Yakots trains in CrossFit and Taekwondo while pursuing his other interests in fitness, leadership, and law enforcement. His prior studies in government, sociology and music enabled him to travel and conduct research on four continents while providing the foundation for many of his current endeavors.
