Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how crimes are committed, investigated and prevented, offering advanced tools for law enforcement but also presenting new challenges. Current efforts to integrate AI across these sectors lack a unified approach, despite the pressing need to address recruitment issues, rising crime rates, and the ethical use of AI.

On Wednesday, August 28, thought leaders will come together to discuss the impact of AI on public safety, criminal justice and security during a webinar titled “AI is Revolutionizing Public Safety, Criminal Justice, and Security — Are We Ready?

The event will feature two expert panels. The first panel will focus on partnerships between law enforcement, criminal justice and private security, discussing how AI is currently used and how to combat AI-enabled threats. The second panel will delve into the technical aspects of AI, including its applications in drones, anti-malware, video analytics and robotics.

Speakers include Paul Goldenberg, President of the Global Consortium of Law Enforcement Training Executives and Senior Advisor to the Rutgers Miller Center for Policing, and Major George Perrera, Commander of the Cyber Crime Bureau for Miami-Dade Police Department, among others.

This event is focused on public safety professionals, technology leaders and policymakers looking to understand AI’s transformative role and the ethical implications of its use.
