FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Police released dash-cam video of a DUI stop involving one of Major League Baseball’s star players.
Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was approached by officers when his Land Rover broke down on February 16th. When cops asked Cabrera to drop to his knees so they could handcuff him, he said “[Expletive shoot me. Kill me,” according to The Detroit News.
“Do you know who I am?” he continued. “I’m Miguel Cabrera. I play for the Detroit Tigers. You don’t know my family.”
Police released a 41-page report, video of the stop, and 911 audio Wednesday as part of Cabrera’s case, according to ESPN.
He was charged with driving under the influence and two counts of resisting arrest without violence.
