YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Council members voted Wednesday night to terminate a suspended police chief for reportedly “dragging” a woman from her car during a traffic stop.
However, despite a 3-2 vote by the village council in favor of firing Craig Beach Police Chief Joe Borosky remains on paid administrative leave because a two-thirds majority is required to pass a motion.
Dash cam video captured Craig Beach Police Chief Joe Borosky pull the woman over in April 2011, question her for a minute or so, then remove her from the vehicle and handcuff her.
According to the woman’s testimony, she told Borosky her arm hurt when he pulled on it. She was held on charges of passing a car improperly and resisting arrest.
Acting Chief Richard Abbott told WYTV the incident is one of five or six charges against Borosky, though he did not elaborate on the others.
