MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — The Miami Beach Police Department, in collaboration with a car dealership, unveiled a Rolls-Royce cruiser as part of its efforts to enhance recruitment, the Miami New Times reported.
“This vehicle represents our commitment to innovation and our dedication to recruiting the best and brightest individuals to serve our community,” Chief Wayne Jones stated.
The vehicle was introduced to the public on May 9 via a post on X, according to the report. Commenters on the post expressed concerns about the cost of the car.

Despite concerns about the misuse of taxpayer dollars, public information officer Christopher Bess clarified that the vehicle is owned by Braman Motors, which also covered all associated costs.
“This vehicle is the property of Braman Motors. It was not purchased or donated,” PIO Christopher Bass reported. “Permission to use MBPD’s classic black and white patrol vehicle design was granted.”
The luxury vehicle is part of a broader trend among some police departments, like Dubai’s, which includes high-end cars such as Rolls-Royce Wraiths and McLarens in their fleets to foster public engagement, according to the report. However, MBPD maintains that the main purpose of their Rolls-Royce is to attract potential recruits and promote the department.
