A 26-year-old man crashed his Chevy Malibu into a Michigan State Police SUV on an interstate. During his arrest, he admitted to smoking marijuana before getting behind the wheel

DETROIT — A man spent his Sunday night in jail after hitting a state police SUV and admitting to smoking marijuana before getting behind the wheel.

According to Detroit News, the 26-year-old man crashed into a Michigan State Police car that was blocking traffic after a previous crash. The man’s Chevy Malibu spun out of control and went up the embankment, stopping after swiping the right side of the police car.

The officer had the driver from the previous crash inside the SUV at the time.

The man was arrested and admitted to having smoked marijuana recently before getting behind the wheel. Neither the officer nor the driver from the previous crash was hurt.

Police took the man to a local hospital for drug testing and placed him under arrest with pending charges.
