Dustin Schellenger serves as the State Director for the Texas Law Enforcement Peer Network (TLEPN) and oversees the implementation of Texas’ Cordico solution.
Through his leadership, TLEPN has become a vital statewide program dedicated to providing Texas law enforcement officers with access to specially trained peers who address critical issues such as stress, trauma, fatigue and other challenges that contribute to workforce burnout.
The program is designed to combat the pressing issues of police suicide and self-harm, offering officers support through phone, email or in-person access to a network of 300 trained peers. Schellenger’s efforts have ensured that these services are available to every officer in the state, reinforcing his commitment to enhancing officer wellness and resilience.
As Schellenger stated, “If we save even one, then all the work we’re doing to get this launched across the state will be worth it.” His leadership has played a pivotal role in creating a program that addresses the mental health and wellness needs of law enforcement officers, making a tangible difference in their lives and the safety of their communities.
