PHOENIX — A 21-year-old man was shot to death by a Phoenix police officer after he allegedly threatened officers with a knife.
Phoenix police Sergeant Any Hill says officers were dispatched to a residence at a mobile home park near 19th Avenue and Greenway Road, near the Turf Paradise horse racing track, on a domestic violence call.
Hill says the suspect had been threatening his family with a knife and also threatened officers when they went inside the trailer.
Hill says one officer attempted to use a Taser on the man, but the man continued to move toward the officer, and that’s when another officer shot and fatally wounded the man.
No one else was hurt.
