For a handful of days in October, Boston becomes the epicenter for the latest and greatest in law enforcement technology when 600 exhibitors showcase their products at IACP, the annual International Association of Chiefs of Police conference. Thousands of innovative solutions are on display and here we highlight one of the latest police products: BRINC’s Responder drone and Station companion robotic charging nest.
Maker: BRINC
Product: Responder drone and companion robotic charging nest Station
What it does: The Responder Drone is a fully integrated 911 response solution designed for rapid deployment in emergencies. Paired with the Station, an autonomous charging and deployment hub, the Responder touts features geared toward helping first responders assess critical situations faster and more efficiently. It was designed as a DFR (Drone as First Responder) solution enhancing situational awareness, reducing response times and ensuring continuous operational capability.
Key features:
- 42-minute flight time with 2-way comms and 40x zoomable HD video
- Thermal imaging and forward obstacle avoidance
- Ability to deliver a small (2 lb.) payload, like an AED or Narcan
- The Station charging nest is also weather resistant and has an HVAC system so the drone can maintain an ambient temperature in hot or cold weather
70 seconds is the average 911 response time with drones and 20% of SWAT teams use BRINC drones.

At the end of their demo presentation at IACP, the company literally pulled the veil on its 2025 release: the Guardian drone. A bit larger than their Responder drone, the new release will be able to carry a heavier payload. BRINC teased other tech advancements but is keeping other specifications under wraps until the full release in 2025. See a preview here:
