The boots, provided by Fenoglio Boot Company of Nocona, Texas, complement the straw and felt hats that have been part of the department’s attire since last year, according to the post.

Each pair of boots is tailored to the individual officer, featuring details that reflect the officer’s rank. The initiative was supported by community donations, ensuring that all interested officers received a pair of the distinctive boots.

The department expressed pride in the new addition to their uniform, noting that the boots symbolize the strong bond between the police force and the community they serve, according to the post.

Over in Washington, some Pierce County Sheriff’s Office deputies are also sporting new accessories: black cowboy hats.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department announced the addition on Wednesday via an Instagram post, which included a video showing deputies wearing the new hats, FOX 13 reported. The post invited followers to share their opinions on the new look.

The cowboy hats are not mandatory but have been embraced by deputies who enjoy adding a personal touch to their uniforms. The community has responded positively to the new style, according to the report.

“Don’t be surprised if you see more and more of them around in...Arapahoe County,” the sheriff’s office stated

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department joins other law enforcement agencies in Washington, such as the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol, which have also allowed unique hat styles, including cowboy hats and blue flat-billed hats.

The sheriff’s department noted that deputies had to purchase their own hats.
