CHICAGO — A coalition of national law enforcement organizations has announced the 2025 Professionalizing Law Enforcement-Community Engagement Training (PLECET) National Conference, scheduled to take place June 4–8, 2025, at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.
Organized by MovementForward, Inc. in partnership with prominent law enforcement associations, the conference is designed to provide training and professional development opportunities for public safety professionals focused on strengthening relationships with the communities they serve. Now in its third year, PLECET aims to position community engagement as a core discipline within modern policing strategies.
According to a joint video announcement featuring law enforcement and prosecutorial leaders, PLECET 2025 will offer a curriculum centered on proactive outreach, navigating critical incidents and developing sustainable partnerships. The event will include expert-led workshops, peer-to-peer networking and sessions tailored to agencies of all sizes and jurisdictions, including federal, state, local, tribal, campus, and transit authorities.
PLECET organizers expect over 2,000 attendees for the 2025 event, making it one of the largest national gatherings focused specifically on community engagement in law enforcement. The event is open to public safety professionals and leaders interested in enhancing their agency’s outreach and engagement capabilities.
