Read the fine print
Before booking or purchasing, make sure to read the fine print to confirm your eligibility. In general, to receive the discount you’ll need to:
- Employed full-time or a retiree from a state, federal or local law enforcement agency
- Verify your status by presenting valid proof of employment
If you are a volunteer, your eligibility for a discount is likely going to depend on the brand or the merchant. Finally, some merchants use a 3rd-party verification service like ID.me, VerifyPass or SheerID.com.
Finally, before taking a discount, be sure you know your department’s policy on accepting such gifts – no discount is worth losing your job.
