NEW YORK — A police investigator has died as a result of cancer developed following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.
New York State Police Investigator John Carey died Oct. 24, 2024 at the age of 65. He served with the agency for 32 years, according to the page.
He is survived by his wife, four children and one grandchild.
