Duty Death: Cpl. Kevin Cusack - [Lancaster]

CLOVER, S.C. — A Lancaster County community is mourning the loss of a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper who was killed in a crash while on duty early Saturday morning, according to local reports.
Cpl. Kevin Cusack, 45, was killed in a one-car crash in the early hours of the morning when his vehicle left the roadway, according to TheSunNews.com. No further details about the crash were available, but the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and Lexington County Sheriff’s Office are working together on the investigation.
“All of those who knew Kevin Cusack, and the law enforcement community as a whole, are greatly saddened by the loss of our co-worker and friend,” said Highway Patrol Col. Kenny Lancaster Jr. in an interview with a Sun News reporter. “Kevin has served the York County area his entire career and is well-known and loved in that area.”
