MILWAUKEE — An employee of the Milwaukee Police Department was fatally shot Monday evening in a “neighbor dispute,” police said.
Police identified the victim as a 35-year-old community service officer, according to FOX 6.
Interim Milwaukee Police Chief Michael Brunson told FOX 6 that the victim had been with the agency for four years and was “beloved, well respected and well-liked.” He called it “a tragic day for the Milwaukee Police Department and for this city.”
Milwaukee community service officers are not sworn officers and aren’t armed, according to FOX 6.
A 65-year-old was arrested related to the homicide investigation.
