KINGMAN, Ariz. — An Arizona police officer died earlier this month after he fell into the road during a scuffle and was struck by a passing vehicle, reported FOX 10.
According to the report, Sgt. Leo Becenti Jr. was off duty the night of March 10 when he responded to a disturbance. At some point, Becenti got into a physical altercation with a man, fell into the road and was hit by an oncoming car.
Becenti was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Becenti joined the Arizona Department of Public Safety in 1998, according to the report. He is survived by his wife, two sons and granddaughter.
