PHILADELPHIA — An off-duty corrections officer was getting gas when a man attempted to carjack her, CBS Philadelphia reports.
The 35-year-old corrections officer was filling up her BMW at a gas station when an armed man walked up behind her, grabbed her and put her in a “bear hug” from behind. A physical altercation ensued as the man attempted to steal the victim’s car.
The corrections officer then pulled out her gun and the two shot at each other, police said. A total of 11 shots were fired. The woman was struck twice in the leg. The suspect, a 22-year-old man, was shot in the back and leg.
