NEW YORK — Police officials say they’ve arrested a man who was seen on video cutting the brake lines of an NYPD van. Police saw the man before they got in the vehicle and found a pair of scissors on him, according to NBC New York.
Video obtained by WNBC shows the suspect crawling underneath the parked van. A police official said a mechanic confirmed that the damage would have prevented the van from coming to a stop, according to WNBC.
Jeremy Trapp, 24, was arrested July 17 and charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief, said WNBC. Officials said Trapp was observed coming and going from the Occupy City Hall protests in recent weeks.
