CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Police are investigating after an officer’s home was ‘targeted’ in a Friday shooting, KCRG reported. According to police, multiple shots hit the off-duty officer’s home, take-home squad car and garage.
Wayne Jerman, Cedar Rapids Chief of Police, believes the suspect meant to target an officer.
“Evidence points to this being a targeted shooting toward a sworn peace officer. It was deliberate. It was an act of intimidation and violence and we will not tolerate it,” Jerman said in a Facebook post.
No one was injured in the shooting and no suspects were immediately taken into custody, police said. The incident remains under investigation.
