Video: Ariz. officer, suspect shot in gun battle

Footage shows the wounded officer lying on the ground while firing shots at the suspect

TUCSON, Ariz. — Dashcam footage has been released of the Oct. 24 shooting that left an officer and a suspect wounded.

Two officers were conducting a special operation when they saw Marcus de la Torre, 33, violating motorcycle traffic laws. When they tried to pull him over, he dropped his bike and fled on foot, tucson.com reported.

Officer Robert Miranda is seen with another officer pursuing the suspect. De la Torre was riding a motorcycle when he opened fire on the officer. The officer can be seen on the ground firing back at de la Torre as he continued to flee.

Officer Miranda suffered a graze wound to his head and was treated and released the night of the shooting, the publication reported. De la Torre suffered life-threatening injuries.

De la Torre is facing attempted first-degree murder and prohibited possessor charges when he is released from the hospital and booked into jail.
