LANGLEY, Va. — An armed intruder has died after the FBI shot him outside the CIA headquarters in Virginia, authorities said Tuesday.
The unidentified suspect drove to the CIA building in Langley around 6 p.m. Monday and “emerged from his vehicle with a weapon,” according to the FBI. At least one agent who was outside opened fire, fatally striking the driver, officials said in a statement.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The FBI said an internal review is underway to investigate the agent’s actions.
“The review will carefully examine the circumstances of the shooting and collect all relevant evidence from the scene,” the statement reads.
No additional details were immediately available.
