FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno Police officers shot at home invasion robbery suspects at two separate locations back in January, as shown via body-cam video that was released Friday by the police department.

Footage shows one of the responding officers firing six shots at an SUV, including at least one shot that broke the front passenger window, after the suspected home invasion robbers inside vehicle ignored police commands to get on the ground.

The suspects instead tried driving fast toward the officer, who then fired his weapon.

That was just the first scene of an officer-involving shooting involving the same suspects.

Because after the home invasion robbery suspects fled from the first responding officers at an apartment complex at the 4800 block of Backer Avenue, they pulled into the south parking lot of nearby Fresno State.

That’s where another officer-involving shooting occurred as two different officers fired at the same suspects, who were believed to be armed and later found to have had an assault rifle inside their SUV.

Body-cam footage from Officer No. 2 shows that policeman firing two shots at suspect driver Amicho Mancia.

Fresno Police said Officer No. 3 also shot at Mancia after observing the 37-year-old pull out a rifle before fleeing from the vehicle. It was unclear how many shots were fired.

The body camera from Officer No. 3 was not turned on until after firing shots, Fresno Police said.

When Mancia was detained via a police K9, no weapons were found on him.

But police discovered an assault rifle inside the suspect SUV.

Police also later found a shotgun and bag that was carried by one of the suspects inside the residence where the home invasion occurred.

Mancia was arrested and found to be in stable condition, police said.

A second suspect who was a passenger inside the SUV, 43-year-old Antwoine Francisco Mancia, never fled the vehicle and was arrested.

That suspect didn’t have any visible injuries but complained of pain, according to police. He was transported to the hospital, released and booked into jail.

A third suspect in the home invasion robbery, 28-year-old Aaron Guery, was later taken custody and booked into jail.

No police officers were injured in the shootings.
