LOS ANGELES — The LAPD released body camera footage showing an officer involved shooting of a man who was attacking a woman in a home and threatening her with a gun, KABC reported.
The footage shows officers arriving at a home on May 3 after a 911 caller reported a man was hitting his girlfriend with a gun and might be suicidal. A woman on the call described the man as her son and said he would not stop the assault.
When officers arrived, bodycam video captured screams from inside the home. A child at the front door pleaded for help for his mother as officers moved in.

As officers approached a corner inside the home, they encountered a man holding what appeared to be a rifle. Officers fired, striking him in the leg. The video shows a woman fleeing the area immediately after the gunfire.
The suspect was treated at the scene with a tourniquet and taken into custody. Despite being wounded, the man can be heard on video telling one of the officers, “That was a good shot.”
A CO2-powered BB gun designed to look like a rifle was found at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Four individuals, including the woman, were safely removed from the home. No other injuries were reported.
The man faces multiple charges.
