Police are investigating after a Suffolk police vehicle was shot multiple times Tuesday night.

SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk police are investigating after a marked police vehicle was shot multiple times Tuesday night.

Dispatchers were called about the shooting at 7:25 p.m. in the 200 block of North Broad Street.

In a news release, the city said an officer was driving through the area when the vehicle was shot three times. The officer was not injured.

The city said there was a “large police presence” in the area while police collected evidence and searched for a suspect. No suspect information was released.

Information was not provided about the motive or circumstance of the shooting.
