Peter Lambrinakos, O.O.M.

Peter Lambrinakos, O.O.M., is a leader in policing, corporate security and the ethical use of AI in justice. As a Distinguished Fellow at the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute, he directs the Public Safety Program and serves as a Commission Member of the Military Police Complaints Commission of Canada. From 2015 to 2024, he served as VIA Rail Canada’s first Chief of Police and Chief Security Officer, establishing the country’s first dedicated intercity passenger rail police service. His 35-year career began with the Montreal Police, where he founded the Metro Unit and later led divisions including Intelligence, Organized Crime and Major Crime. He has represented Canada internationally on the Strategic Council of RAILPOL and served as North America’s representative on the International Union of Railways Security Platform. In 2021, he was invested as an Officer of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and teaches executive leadership at the Canadian Police College.
