LAWRENCE, Kan. — A trusting teen who fell prey to a stranger’s false promises is back on track thanks to some Kansas cops. According to police, the teenager loaned his bike to a total stranger who vowed to return it.
“The teenager sat outside and waited for two hours for the stranger to return...and of course he didn’t,” Lawrence Police wrote on Facebook.
The boy’s father was having trouble replacing the bike, so police stepped in.
The officer who took the initial theft report contacted Lawrence Police Blue Santa, a holiday charity fund for the less fortunate. Soon, the boy had a new set of wheels.
