OKLAHOMA CITY — A touching Facebook post from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office shows how one investigator commemorated a fallen officer killed in the line of duty last month.
According to the sheriff’s office, Investigator Mark Johns visited the desk of Deputy Bobby Swartz, who was shot and fatally wounded while serving eviction papers at a home on August 22. Johns used his body to shield Swartz from incoming gunfire, but he succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
Johns stood by Swartz’s desk to pray, standing over the wreath arrangement placed in remembrance of the officer. He noted that Swartz was a “warrior who died doing the job he loved.”
