NASHVILLE — The city of country music came together Monday to honor a fallen hero.

Officer Eric Mumaw, 44, died Feb. 2 while attempting to save a suicidal woman whose car was in the river, the Associated Press reported.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Jamey Johnson sang the song “Some Gave All” to honor Mumaw at his memorial service, Wide Open Country reported.

“All gave some, some gave all / Some stood through for the red, white and blue / And some had to fall,” Cyrus and Johnson sang.

Gill dedicated the song “Go Rest High on That Mountain” to Mumaw’s mother as well.

“I reached out to the Mayor and I said, ‘If you need somebody to come and sing for Eric, I’m there.’ I’m thankful for the opportunity to come and, more than anything, just be grateful,” Gill said. “Not only to Eric, but to every one of you that wear a uniform and do what you do.”

Juli Glisson, 40, was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in Mumaw’s death, the Associated Press reported.
