RIVERDALE, N.J. — A Riverdale officer saved a man from jumping off a bridge on April 25, according to a department Facebook post.
Sgt. Greg Bogert responded to a call of a man walking in traffic when he saw him on the bridge ledge. The man was upset and crying. Bogert attempted to calm him but to no avail.
As the man leaped, Bogert grabbed him and stopped him from jumping.
The man was taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
The post garnered over 9,000 reactions.
