CENTERVILLE, Utah — A Utah Highway Patrol trooper ran in front of an oncoming train to pull an unconscious man from a vehicle parked on the tracks.

Video caught on a dashboard camera of the Wednesday morning incident shows UHP Trooper Ruben Correa racing toward the vehicle while shouting at its occupant to get out of the car.

“Get out of here! We’ve got a train coming!” he can be heard shouting while pulling the unresponsive driver from the vehicle.

According to footage of the incident, Correa got the driver out mere seconds before a train slammed into the car, pushing it at least 30 feet ahead of the tracks. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, KSL reports.

Correa told KSL the driver had an unknown medical issue prior to the incident that rendered him unconscious.

“I’m still trying to process everything that happened,” Correa told KSL. “I’m just very grateful that I was able to get him out and he’s alive and he’s back with his family now.”
