NEW YORK — Body camera video shows NYPD officers rushing to remove people from a burning building, WNBC reported.
The officers were driving by the Brooklyn building on Feb. 14 when they heard screams for help coming from a fourth floor window, according to the report.
“When you hear the screams, it’s something in you. You can’t just disregard that and wait for fire, so we went up,” Officer Vincenzo Rallo told WNBC.
Rallo and Officer Mark Kalwa went into the building and directed people outside using a flashlight.
In an exclusive interview with @MarcSantia4NY, officers from @NYPDPSA2 discussed rescuing families from a burning building last week in Brooklyn.

“The first person who came was a mother with a child and she just looked like she was going to go down, so I grabbed the baby from her, helped her down the stairs and took the baby. And that was the first one we brought down,” Rallo said.
The officers rescued 12 people from the building, according to the report.
“It’s just humbling to be there at their time of need and provide that service,” Kalwa said.
