AUSTIN, Texas — Dell Children’s Medical Center welcomed special guests Thursday morning for its annual “Super Hero Day,” as hospital staff and Austin Police Department officers donned costumes to entertain young patients, KVUE reported.

Iconic characters like Batman, Iron Man, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man rappelled down the hospital walls, while villains such as the Joker joined in for an action-packed show. Children watched the spectacle from their windows as the superheroes and villains performed in the courtyard below, according to the report.

The Austin Police Department celebrated the occasion via a Facebook post, saying that the department’s helicopter also flew in to help with the demonstration.

After the performance, the costumed heroes and villains participated in a meet-and-greet, signing autographs and spending time with the children.

Dell Children’s Medical Center hosts this event each year to bring joy and excitement to its young patients, offering them a fun-filled day during their stay at the hospital, according to the report.
