JONESBORO, Ark. — Body camera video shows the moment an officer rescued a young boy from a frozen lake, FOX 13 reported.
The incident occurred Jan. 20, when a young boy had fallen through ice into a cold pond, according to the report. Officer Troy Ellison responded and was directed to the boy’s location by bystanders.
Video shows Ellison running to the lake and immediately start crawling across the ice toward the boy, who started crying. He was able to hold the boy’s arm until firefighters on the scene sent a rope across the ice.
Using the rope, Ellison was able to pull the boy out of the water and across the ice to the pond’s shore.
