SACRAMENTO — Law enforcement agencies in northern California were asked to show off their best trick shots for a good cause – and they delivered. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) organized the First Responder Trick Shot Challenge in support of safe driving.
Agencies submitted videos of their most impressive basketball skills, like shooting from a skateboard while in animal costumes and dunking with a ladder truck (yes, you read that right). The only guidelines were that the video had to be entertaining and under 30 seconds.
The public is now invited to vote on the six finalists to determine a winner, according to a press release from MADD. The competition is part of a safety campaign that aims to raise awareness about drunk driving during the holiday season and encourage designated drivers. The team with the most votes will win a new grill.
