SALT LAKE CITY — A solar canopy and space for festivals are among the features sprinkled into the usual dispatchers, detectives’ offices, and evidence rooms at Salt Lake City’s new police and fire headquarters.
The $125 million building was approved in November 2009, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. It is set to open in 2013, and involves the community: along with providing public meeting areas, the lobby will be a place visitors can access department records.
