HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Dash camera video shows police use a grappler to stop two 17-year-old carjackers, WPLG reported.

The Dec. 26 incident began when the two suspects, identified as Terrell Kirkland and Santiago Iglesias, held up a man unloading groceries from his Chevrolet Camero. They pointed a gun at him and stole the car, according to the report.

Officers with the Hollywood Police Department then initiated a pursuit. Surveillance footage shows the Camero crashing into a wire fence, slowing it down and causing the driver to partially lose control. Dash camera footage shows a net lower at the front of the cruiser.

The net hooked onto the back left wheel and once the cruiser hit the brakes, the stolen car came to a stop. Both suspects surrendered to police without further incident, according to the report.

The suspects face charges of robbery, carjacking and fleeing police.

The Hollywood Police Department stated it has six grappler devices in its fleet, according to the report.
