Digital Ally announced that it will introduce a “bullet camera” option for its FirstVu HD Officer-Worn Video system at the upcoming IACP conference.
The bullet camera provides greater insight into where an officer was specifically looking during events in the field. Similar to their helmet mount, the camera will be attachable to a pair of glasses or an officer’s hat.
Digital Ally says the bullet camera is smaller and lighter than other eyeglass-mounted options and is more comfortable to wear. The bullet camera will also work with Digital Ally’s patented VuLink connectivity device, which allows hands-free activation of the body camera system.
Current specs of the bullet camera include 130 degree wide-angle field of view, ability to capture what officers can actually see, .08 Lux low-light sensitivity, Wide Dynamic Range recording, up to 720p HD video resolution, and advanced compression.
