Rapid deployment of communication assets is critical when a crisis unfolds, especially in areas with limited infrastructure. In Verizon’s most recent survey of nearly 1,700 first responders nationwide, 66% said that deployable communications assets would be either a “top” or “important” priority for their agency in the future.
The Verizon Frontline Innovation Program has rolled out new assets designed to help first responders operate during crisis situations, including:
- A mobile emergency drone and network operations center
- A deployable, multi-purpose command center packed with the full range of Verizon Frontline technology to include multiple connectivity options and situational awareness tools
- A group of off-road vehicles custom built to bring connectivity to hard-to-reach areas
Police1 spoke with Jason Mitchell, leader of Verizon’s Frontline Crisis Response Team and Innovation Program, to explore Verizon’s latest innovations aimed at keeping first responders connected wherever the mission takes them.
