Intro: Founded in 2005 with Corporate Headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, RedXDefense is focused on novel security solutions that address the unique needs of law enforcement, homeland defense, military and businesses.

RedX products range from our field-proven ruggedized, portable, trace explosive detectors that are ideally suited for hard-use military applications to our lightweight, hand-held units that detect narcotics, homemade and high explosives, and gunshot residue.
Where did your company name originate from?
‘R.E.D.’ are the initials of our original CEO and one of our founders. The ‘X’ was added for eXplosives since our first products were for explosives detection and the ‘Defense’ was added because we support the DOD.
What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
Our founders recognized the need for a more rugged, user-friendly explosives detection system.
Why do you believe your products are essential to the police community?
Our products are unlike any other on the market today. The XCAT is the only explosives, narcotics and GSR detector on the market. It is affordable, user-friendly, and versatile.
What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
Our biggest challenge has been the declining military and law enforcement budgets.

We are a small business dedicated to developing products that meet the real needs of users.

They love RedXDefense because of our amazing customer service. Nothing is more important to us than our customers. We develop affordable, rugged, easy to use and reliable products.

We love serving them because we appreciate their service to our communities. We strive to make their jobs a little easier.

Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share with our users about you or your company?
The walls in our office are painted red. Painted on those red walls are words from The Organizing Genius - “In Great groups the right person has the right job.
