My last department used a mugshot system called RICI (Repository for Integrated Criminalistic Information). It takes digital prints, mugs and all arrest data. It’s an all-in-one booking program that links all departments that use it, which means you can search names and look at other bookings from other PDs — great tool for mugs. It is also linked to NCIC to add the current charge to their criminal history; you get a response with a newly printed history in a few minutes. You can also try to ID uncooperative subjects. You print them and it runs a print match to give an ID. It’s a great tool.
