Dell has launched a new tablet designed to be reliable in extreme weather conditions or environments.
The Dell Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet can survive water spills, sand, dust, drops over four feet and extreme heat or cold. The tablet is specifically designed for people in careers such as law enforcement or the military who take the device on-the-go in a multitude of environments and situations, according to a press release.
The Latitude 12 Rugged Tablet has an 11.6 inch HD touch screen that can be used with gloves and in direct sunlight. For severe temperatures, the Rugged Tablet comes with a thermal management system. Its system is powered by Fifth Generation Intel Core M processors.
The Rugged Tablet has 12 hours of battery life, up to 512GB of memory storage and connects to Wi-Fi anywhere. It also features optional mobile broadband and a dedicated GPS.
An optional full-sized keyboard and Dell Data Protection are also available for purchase with the tablet.
The tablet is due to hit stores at the end of July.
