BOSTON — For three days in mid-October thousands of police leaders gathered at the annual International Association of Chiefs of Police conference to learn from subject matter experts, network with colleagues from around the world and research the thousands of product solutions on display. Here we highlight Traka’s electronic key cabinets, one of more than 600 exhibitors at IACP.
Maker: Traka Assa Abloy has protected keys and equipment for law enforcement and the military for more than 25 years.
Product: Key cabinets for safe and secure storage of vehicle keys, facility keys, electronic badges
What it does: The Traka electronic key cabinet, which comes in four sizes and can hold up to 100 keys, protects keys and badges in a steel construction cabinet that can only be accessed by authorized users with an electronic badge swipe or entering a touchscreen code. The Traka software can restrict key access based on an individual’s role or assignment, reports who accessed the cabinet, the key they took and if the key has been returned. When returning a key the user can be prompted with department-specific questions, like vehicle condition or mileage.
Watch this short video to see how the key cabinet software guides the user to return a key to the correction position.
Key features: Here are four key features of the Traka Touch Pro electronic key cabinet:
- Touchscreen interface: User-friendly touchscreen for quick access and management.
- Integrated key security: Ensures secure storage and controlled access of keys by recording every user and asset transaction.
- Browser-based administration: The department quartermaster can manage the key cabinet software from any authorized device.
- Customizable reports: Provides detailed audit trails and reports for accountability and compliance.
Next up: Use customizable and scaleable Traka intelligent equipment lockers to store pistols, long guns, and electronic devices using the same software and access controls
