THREE RIVERS, Mich. — The pursuit of three armed robbery suspects came to an end after their vehicle flipped when state police used a PIT maneuver.
Police received calls of shots fired at an apartment complex Saturday, WTHR reported. When police arrived on the scene, the people who were being robbed pushed the three suspects out of the apartment onto the front lawn, police told Fox 17.
The suspects fled in an SUV. During the pursuit, footage captured the SUV weaving into lanes of oncoming traffic.
A trooper performed the PIT maneuver, causing the vehicle to roll over as it was turning into another apartment complex, Fox 17 reported.
“In this case it stopped a vehicle from going into an apartment complex where there’s a large amount of children as well as adults,” Police Chief Tom Bridgman said.
The suspects were taken into custody without further incident. The three are charged with attempted murder and felony firearms and concealed carry violations.
The armed robbery victims received minor injuries, according to Fox 17.
