CENTERVILLE, Ohio — A woman led officers on a bizarre reverse pursuit Friday evening.
Police responded to calls of a truck driving in reverse on a major interstate, Fox45 Now reported.
An officer pursued the driver, Lucretia Levette Snowden-Davis, until she backed into cable barriers while attempting to switch into drive. The officer attempted to block Snowden-Davis in with his patrol car, but she crashed into it after shifting to drive and continued to flee.
Snowden-Davis, 46, drove down an embankment and traveled the wrong-way on the highway ramp before the officer stopped pursuing due to the “danger to the public,” the news station reported. She later crashed and was taken to a hospital to assess her injuries. The officer was not injured.
Snowden-Davis is charged with OVI, driving under suspension, reckless operation and failure to control. Centerville police plan to file additional charges regarding the crash into one of their officer’s cruisers, Fox45 Now reported.
