1. Where did your company name originate from?
InVeris Training Solutions (formerly Meggitt Training Systems) was rebranded in October 2020. “InVeris” connotes insight and truth. The rebranding reflects the company’s pride in standing behind the bravest, best-trained men and women around the world and in providing comprehensive training solutions that prepare them to act at a moment’s notice to protect the communities and countries they serve.
2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
InVeris Training Solutions is the combination of two pioneering legacy companies. Caswell International, founded in 1926, is the brand behind the world’s most innovative shooting range equipment for commercial ranges, law enforcement and militaries around the world. Firearms Training Systems (FATS) began in 1984 and was the world’s first virtual training company focused on law enforcement and militaries. In 2008, FATS and Caswell were purchased by Meggitt PLC and became Meggitt Training Systems. In 2020, Meggitt Training Systems was acquired by Pine Island Capital Partners and was rebranded as InVeris Training Solutions.
3. What is your signature product and how does it work?
InVeris recently launched the VR-DT “Verdict,” or Virtual Reality – Decisions and Tactics. VR-DT enables law enforcement agencies, as well as private and military security forces, to maximize readiness and correctly educate students for field experiences. The system combines state-of-the-art hardware, scalable software and a content library that is always increasing. A variety of officer weapons and equipment can be accommodated, including simulated pistols, rifles, shotguns, batons, TASERs, OC sprays and flashlights. The adjustable and modular system works anywhere, from one to two-person sessions.
4. Why do you believe your products are essential to the law enforcement community?
InVeris Training Solutions is the only company to offer integrated live-fire and virtual training systems. Our full line of FATS virtual training products are the most advanced in the industry. We literally invented simulation training for law enforcement more than 35 years ago. We offer one, three or five screen systems with 3D marksmanship, unparalleled ballistic tracking, automatic coaching and the backend system that made us the virtual weapons training provider for allied forces around the globe. Our judgmental capabilities provide the necessary training skills on de-escalation of force available today.
We continually add to our video scenario library, bringing customers an expansive list of branching options to ensure trainees are well versed before they hit the streets. Our patented BlueFire wireless weapons are the gold standard for simulated weapons, offering the form, fit and function of a live weapon. Our new VR-DT virtual reality system brings the latest technology to agencies that need full-on training in de-escalation tactics in real-world environments.
On the live-fire side of the house, InVeris offers turnkey shooting range solutions, from range design, equipment, installation to customer service after the sale. We have been around for 95 years, fielding more than 15,500 shooting ranges worldwide. Shooting stalls, bullet traps, target carriers, ballistic baffles and guards, turning target systems, tactical equipment … InVeris is the one-stop shop for range operators.
What does this mean for the law enforcement community? InVeris offers the most advanced, robust, comprehensive training solutions on the market today, from virtual through live fire.
5. What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
InVeris continues to strike a balance between the allure of new technology and its ability to deliver reliably in the real world, especially given the rigorous standards set by us and our customers for effective training. Our LOMAH (location of miss and hit) and VR-DT systems are examples of InVeris demonstrating strategic patience, only bringing products to market when they could live up to their potential.
6. What makes your company unique?
As the pioneer in shooting range equipment and simulation training systems, InVeris’ long and storied history is impressive and remarkable. And the future state of InVeris is innovative as well. Providing law enforcement with virtual reality training tailored to their cities or towns, immersing the students in real-world environments is a game changer. This immersion in a scenario takes the training to the next level, bringing a heightened training component to police forces everywhere.
7. What do your customers like best about you and your products?
Besides the innovative virtual and live-fire products, InVeris is best known for its superior customer service. Our team is available 24/7 to answer your questions, provide solutions and send technicians to your facility when necessary. We have 40-year-old shooting range equipment still in service today, which is a testament to the ruggedness and reliability of InVeris’ products.
8. What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community?
At InVeris, everything we do is in service of the people who keep us safe and secure. That’s why we proudly stand behind the bravest, best-trained men and women around the world – innovating comprehensive training solutions that prepare them to act at a moment’s notice; to protect the communities and countries we have pledged to serve. Our clients give their all, and we’re honored to work alongside them. Because we know that when our clients are prepared - and their people are safe - we all stay safe.

10. Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share about you or your company?

11. What’s next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
Following the successful launch of VR-DT, InVeris plans to build on virtual reality technology, as well as continue monitoring adjacent ones such as augmented reality to see how simulation-based training can continue to evolve. These will complement our FATS projection-based systems, which remain extremely valuable for marksmanship and other training objectives. On the live-fire side, recent advances like our LOMAH bar for hit detection will be complemented by new turning target systems and other range equipment that will extend the 95-year Caswell legacy well into its second century.
