KENOSHA, Wis. — In a move designed to strengthen international law enforcement training, the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA) and Polizeitrainer in Deutschland (PiD) have announced an unprecedented partnership. This alliance marks the first cooperative agreement between two major law enforcement training organizations spanning continents.
“We’ve been building bridges between cultures, institutions and countries for nearly two decades, and it’s exciting to take this one step further,” said Joe Willis, Deputy Executive Director of ILEETA.
The partnership was first unveiled at the PiD Conference in 2024, where Harvey Hedden and Eckhard “Ecko” Niebergall introduced the initiative. Now, at #ILEETA2025, the collaboration will be formally presented to ILEETA’s global membership, reinforcing a shared commitment to excellence in law enforcement training.
By joining forces, PiD and ILEETA will foster knowledge exchange, professional development and collaboration, ensuring that law enforcement trainers worldwide have access to cutting-edge training methods, tactics and best practices.
“This is truly a huge step forward for law enforcement training,” the organizations stated. “As law enforcement professionals face evolving challenges across the globe, international cooperation has never been more critical. By joining forces, we are strengthening the foundation for safer communities and better-prepared officers worldwide.”
Under this partnership, PiD and ILEETA will develop joint training programs, knowledge-sharing platforms and cross-border initiatives to enhance law enforcement education on a global scale.
