GREEN BAY, Wis. — A Green Bay police officer threw an impromptu birthday celebration for a child who was left alone after school.
WBAY reports that Officer Robinson responded to the school after no one picked up the child. The child’s parent was incarcerated and there were no other known family contacts, police say.
The officer discovered it was the child’s birthday. As police worked to locate the child’s family, Robinson took him to McDonald’s for a meal and also treated him to a ride along.
A guardian for the child was eventually located and Robinson dropped him off. The police department shared the officer’s act of kindness on Facebook, where it has garnered nearly 9,000 likes.
