NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia — An Australian police department is battling criticism after sharing a social media post asking for the public’s help locating a suspect that would have a reasonably hard time hiding in a crowd.
The New York Post reported the Murray River Police District came under fire on social media after making the Facebook post below, showcasing a suspect with a massive “beast” tattoo across his entire face. Facebook users took the opportunity to pick fun at the department for needing the public’s help to locate the man despite the obvious marking.
One Facebook user joked, “I don’t think I’d recognize him if I passed him in the street.”
The sarcastic tone continued throughout the post’s comment section.
“Keep your eyes open for this man. He’ll be extremely hard to spot in a crowd,” another person wrote.
