RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Lt. Danny Brown was on patrol last week when a citizen stopped him and his partner with an unusual request: Would Brown participate in a TikTok video?

According to WIS News, Tyquan Price recognized Brown, who first gained fame through the television show ‘Live PD’, from TikTok. Brown is known online as thundacat830 and has amassed over 130,000 TikTok followers. His videos regularly receive tens of thousands of views.

Sr. Deputy Addy Perez filmed the lieutenant dancing with Price and posted the video to Twitter.

Price published the final cut to his own TikTok account and thanked Brown for the cameo.

@thundacat830 thank u so much for making my day and making time out to dance with me one day hope we can do this again love u,” Price wrote.

Brown says that TikTok is an essential tool for community outreach.

“If we are going to reach this younger generation...especially in this COVID environment we have to use social media,” Brown told WIS News.

Brown says if and when young people stop using TikTok, he’ll just switch to the next app.

“It’s a good time, nobody wants to be out there at work all day, everyone wants to take a break from work. If we can do that, take a break, and have fun, social media is the way to go.”
