LAS VEGAS — Trooper Micah May of the Nevada Highway Patrol is in critical condition after he was struck Tuesday during a pursuit.
According to KSNV, May was deploying stop sticks along the highway when a carjacking suspect hit him. Officers shot and killed the suspect – who was not immediately identified – after the collision.
May was airlifted to a hospital where he was reported in critical condition Wednesday morning.
The Injured Police Officers Fund (IPOF) is accepting donations for May’s family here.
The @NevadaDPS and Highway Patrol expresses gratitude to the IPOF, the multiple law enforcement agencies, and the Nevada and Las Vegas community for the outpouring of continued prayers and support for Trooper May. Updates on Trooper May’s condition will be provided. pic.twitter.com/xeXY6sT71f
